Violets Among Roses still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Painting is so relaxing. At times I start to get uptight about it and then I make myself take a deep breath and realize that is not drudgery. I do get angry if the painting does not go like I want It to.  I bought this little creamer pitcher in Maine a couple of years ago. It is delicate and one of my favorites. This painting if a 10x8 oil on canvas panel. I painted it on Labor Day this year. I had the most trouble with the basket handle.

Little Blue Flowers by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I painted this a while back at one of my workshops. It was simpler and I was just not quite satisfied with it. I added the vase of flowers and the little blue flowers to the right and also the lemon wedge. I like it much better now. 16x20 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

Lemonade Painted for the DPW challenge stripes. I really had a difficult time with this. I struggled for a while and even considered doing a wipeout but decided against it. There are a few things about this that I like and a few things I might change sometime....but not today,

Sweet and Sour Pork This is a painting of a little clear tinted blue vase I found somewhere about two years ago but have been kinda apprehensive about painting it until today. It was quite fun. I must confess that I did study Helen Coopers paintings to determine how I should approach the colored glass. Check out her blog. This was so much fun. I do find lemons quite a challenge too.
