I started this large painting quickly realizing that I was in over my head and then I said to myself...Just breathe. Soon I was lovin painting cows again and everything went fine. I found the reference photo on morguefile.com a place for artist to find free reference material. I assure you there are long haired cattle as there are long horns and other strange looking animals. I was in heaven. They were so beautiful with the green grass and the red leaves of fall just starting to turn. Pure bliss..... 7x5 oil on canvas animal painting.

Milk Maid cow painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Again, again, I just can't paint enough cows. They are my absolutely love them. The are slow or at least I think they are. I won't be climbing over any fences to find out. I really liked painting the pink udders on this one. This cow was staked out in someones yard in Amish country for their personal use of milk I think. Her udders were full and she was just happily munching on the green grass. She was behind a chain link fence which I promptly left out.  oil on 6x6 gallery wrapped canvas.animal painting
