Still Life Painting One Silly Little Chick by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Each year my Daughter buys me a chicken figurine of some sort. This however looks nothing like the chick. I knew at the beginning that it would be different and I was right. It is cute though with a whimsical questioning look. I should have named it something with a question. Unlikely Things still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I bought some canvas recently that was difficult to paint on. It grabbed the paint and soaked it up making it very hard to paint. I applied gesso and it made it a little easier but I can not say that I ever got it to take paint like it should. This is 20x16 oil on canvas panel.

Squawk Box chicken painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Well!!! Well!! Today I started a little journey which included chickens. Well actually I did not start the journey today but last Thursday I think. I received in the mail an rectangular box in the mail. The box was wrapped in a mysterious brown paper. What could it be? I had not ordered anything. I gently removed the brown paper to find inside a white box. Oh my!!! It was the traveling chicken and her friends. I took special care as I cut the wrapper and tape leaving the box unharmed. I kept it for two days before I was brave enough to open it. In side this box was a Styrofoam box. I slowly removed the lid not wanting anything to fall out. First a small piece of bubble wrap and then a cloth bag.I pulled them out one at a time while holding my breath that they are all ok. I removed Ms Chick and knew something was wrong as I saw Senor Gallo Rozzo... His legs were broken but not to worry. I got the super glue and in no time he ...

Table Tango by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I had been wanted something special to paint so I went shopping yesterday and bought the pears,  the tulips, some apples and peppers. I hope that I will be able to paint all of them while they last. The tulips are already looking a little wilted but I hope they at least last one more day. Miss Chick by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Again I felt compelled to paint the chick I got for Christmas. It just kinda screams paint me.  I looked around my studio and saw a beautiful red apple. One my daughter brought me a couple of weeks ago.I got the knife and cut it up wanting to capture the fleshy part and seeds but to my surprise it was all brown inside so I did what any artist would do I changed it.
