Still Life painting Sparkle Rosie by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Image
Still Life painting Sparkle Rosie by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Actually I got the name for this one after a cat. My nephews little girl named her cat Sparkle Rosie, not sparkle or Rosie but Sparkle Rosie and you better not shorten it. She dragged that cat around everywhere. Oh to be loved like that. The sparkle of this vase made me think of it. The open pear was another gift from my daughter who searches for the strangest things because she knows that I love them. 20x16x1.5 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

Family Reunion still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Image
Family Reunion still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan We went camping last weekend. I stopped by Walmart and bought fruit yep just to paint while I was gone. I picked up a huge bag of cherries because they looked so wonderful. Deciding I only needed a few I emptied them all out except a few. Shocked I was to find they were almost four dollars for just a handful. Crazy!!! I couldn't believe it but they did taste yummy when I finally ate them. Frantic for just one more thing I pulled some long grass and put in a vase. 10x8 oil on canvas panel.

Plentiful Life still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Image
Plentiful Life still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I love painting cups and paintings of cups but to me they are very hard to paint and keep their fragile appeal. I am pretty pleased with this one and of course pears are both fun and more manageable. Oil painting on canvas panel. 5x7

Image
We Need A Word With You oil painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Another painting on a black background. I left some intentional places with a little black peeping through. I am having trouble taking photos of my work lately. I still get glare no matter what I try. Any suggestions? This is an oil painting on 8x8 canvas panel. I really like this one. The glass jar turned out nice I think.

More In Than Out by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Image
More In Than Out by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan The handmade pottery bowl was a gift to me as a housewarming gift when I bought my  very first house. By some miracle I still have it. I used to make pottery myself. There is nothing like it. The feel of that wet cool clay between your hands as it takes on the shape that you mold it. Like I said there is just nothing like it. SOLD

On Top Of The World by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Image
On Top Of The World by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I have been painting quite a lot despite working a full time job. But a full time job I realize just does not give me the satisifaction that painting does. I know I have painted a lot of apples and pears not to mention the green vase and that little cup. My 6 year old grandson set this up for me. I did have to move one of the pears due to the small canvas size. I am learning that you have to paint the fruit while it last which is not long enough. The tulips bit the dust pretty quickly but I did get quite a few paintings from them though.  7x5 oil still life on canvas panel.

Much Red by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
