Big Sister Still Life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan Showing you my mistakes makes me feel very wide open so here goes. As you know I paint alla prima for the most part. I painted the top picture and was gonna be done. In fact I thought I was done but I knew I was not happy with the spout on the teapot even though it did protrude out as painted but it just looked odd. I left it over night thinking maybe no one would notice especially since I had added that luscious cherry. Anyway, I got home from work today and decided to add the second teddy bear. ( I made the larger bear out of floral fabric). I am much happier with the end result. 14x11 oil on canvas panel. (I also painted the ceramic teapot).

And A Few Grapes still life painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I have studied different paintings that I like and have purposely noted what it is that I like about them and that being said I decided to change my background colors at least on this one. I don't think I have ever used these colors for a background before. Also I painted the grapes from models of other painters grapes Purposeful darks and brights and this is what I came up with. I am pleased as I hope you are. This is oil painted on 8x8 canvas panel. Again, I have been using black canvas panels and am really liking the results.

I loved painting this I know I say that quite a lot but I really have been happy painting lately. I am making myself make time for it. It has been a very rewarding struggle. Antique Teapot I bought this teapot when I was 18 years old because I just fell in love with it. It has spent the last 10 years or more in a trunk. My husband found it the other day and it felt like seeing an old friend. The Glass Teapot Not long ago while I was at the thrift store I found this treasure. Hidden on the shelf among other discarded wares I found it The Glass Teapot. It was so unique.
