Abandoned Shrimp Boat painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan This Shrimp Boat is in Bon Secour, Al. It was beached during a hurricane and was owned by my uncle Robert Johnson. It is featured in the beginning of the TV series Hart of Dixie. I decided to paint it as I have fond memories of this boat. I ate many shrimp caught on this boat. Anyone who has ever been around a Shrimper knows that this is a hard brutal way to earn a living. We Shrimp Today boat painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan I love painting boats although sometimes I struggle with them. This one I must say I am pretty pleased with. Powell Harbor by Angela Sullivan While camping at Lake Guntersville Alabama we passed this little lighthouse on the river. My daughter Julie was with me and I just so happened to have my Plein Aire setup in the car. I told her I just had to paint this so off we go down a tiny trail of a road. We drive up and Julie jumped out of the car to ask if it was ok to set up there to paint. It was hot and the air was still but I had so much fun. Might I say she was a little more tan when we left. Great fun.... To purchase via Paypal visit my Gallery

Shrimping Shrimp boats are so majestic and old looking. When I think of them I think of something old and creaking with each roll of the tide. I know I am wrong but my thoughts are along the gulf coast. A place where seagulls fill the sky and the smell of salt is heavy in the air. 6x6 oil on gallery wrapped canvas For sale or auction at my DPW gallery. Follow the link to pay via PayPal
