Enough To Go Around rose painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan A rose is not a rose is not a rose is not a rose. These things are not easy to paint. Oh they look easy enough but I lost sleep over them. I just can't leave well enough alone. I could have painted a cherry or a cow or something a little easier but no I had to do a rose. After all of that being said this painting did turn out very nicely. 8x8 oil on canvas panel. still life

Image
Under Dark Skies barn painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan This is actually a bit darker than it really is but it does have a punch of light and bright interest points. The red areas on the roof edge are bright red with hints of cadmium yellow. At first the clouds were white and fluffy but they drew attention from the barn so of course I subdued them which pushed them into the background.5x7 oil on canvas panel.
