The Three of Us Tulips are the most special flower because they can stand alone like a soldier on a hill. When in a group they have the feel of  being in a relationship like unto a family It makes them stronger and somehow better at times. Roses Are Red If I had a choice I would choose red. It is my favorite color you know. My theory is that anything is better with just a touch of red. The red rose is the most beautiful? Right?

Waiting On A Woman He bought a single yellow rose and laid it gently on the table. A fragile glass was found in the back corner of the cabinet and he reached for it knowing that she would soon be home. His only thought was to tell her how much he loves her and how special he knows that she is. His goal is to make her day and see her smile as it creeps slowly across her face. Aunt Lula's Petals Flowers of all sorts were Aunt Lula's passion. I can remember going to her house as a child and getting lost in her luscious garden. The tiger lilies are what I remember  most. They were bright orange spider like blooms with shiny black seeds. She would always let us pick them despite mama's protest. Aunt Lula's favorite flowers were the ones with little pink blooms. The fragrance was outstanding. The view was to die for but I what I liked most was the adventure while lost among the blossoms. No Longer Available

Ripe Unto Harvest The orchard is loaded and ready to pick. The harvest is grand. Only the best and juiciest will do. The tart sweet flavor of a crisp red apple. Nothing is so flavorful. The Pumpkin Patch Have you ever been to one? A Pumpkin Patch? There they are all alike yet all so  different. Orange, green,yellow, white. Any color you can imagine. The skins are bumpy, smooth and when you feel them your hand feels the roundness which is both firm and cool. If you go out on a fall day you will feel the lift of your spirit as the air wisp your hair and you hear the laughter of children picking out the perfect one for carving and grandma finds the one just right for the thanksgiving pie. 6x8 acrylic on canvas panel $98

Sweet Things Sweet things are all around us and pleasing to the pallet. Other things are lives are as sweet to the soul like family, grandchildren and dogs. A Few Simple Berries Just a few simple berries kissed by the light. Midnight Move While painting this I was thinking of someone special. A friend of mine is moving. Her life will change but stay the same. She will meet new friends but remember old ones. She will experience the stress of a new job, a new home and a new place. She will be happy yet sad. We will miss her. I read a saying on another site which I would like to share with you now. "When people walk away from you let them go, Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you,  & it doesn't mean that they are bad people, It just means that their part is your story is over."                                                                       I painted this one year ago and thought I would repost it. I can tell a big difference since I have been painting daily. Sometimes It is fun to  look back and see the progress we have made. I would do this a little differently now. I used to much white to lighten. Grandma's Kitchen The start of the day begins with the hustle and bustle of activity. Today is the day for work to be done. Canning will take place and the many mason jars will be filled with the bounty of the garden. Jams, Jellies and fresh tomatoes will be put away for a rainy day. Porcelain and Grapes The coolness of porcelain invites the guest to pick out a cup for the afternoon tea. Also as a treat, grapes of the juiciest quality can be sampled and later tea cakes from grandma's kitchen. What a feast for friends. Berry Brew I am used to having plain coffee with just a touch of cream and sugar but now it is time for adventure. It is time for something different. A neighbor suggested some berries and a touch of mint. To my surprise I found it to be quite delightful. Just In Time for Breakfast The family is gathered. It's early am. The rooster is crowing anouncing the dawning of another day. The sun slowly creeps over the mountain tops and a heavy dew has settled on the fresh cut grass. Little Blue Cup Thrift store finds are best of all. Sometimes they are cracked, but cracks add character if it is something you want to keep. Sometimes you can imagine how much these things were valued by their owners and why they were discarded. Things We Love Some people love sewing and making pretty things. Some people like to sit back and enjoy the things which other people have made. I like both. I enjoy the fact that I have always been able to make pretty things. I made my child's wedding dress and her cake and arranged her flowers. I sing at weddings and funerals and I paint. Miss Shabby Miss Shabby hides in the grass. She dosn't chase rats, she don't have to. She has all she wants to eat and then some. She is loved and lives with the sweet little lady who supplies her every need. You see, Miss Shabby is not shabby at all but she is a princess doted upon and provided the best of care by gentle hands. Hands which take pleasure in the softness of her fur. In The Dark The dark is a lonely place sometimes, but sometimes it is a place of quiet sweet solitude, a place to reflect and find your inner self. A place of comfort and thought, the dark is the true place to find ones soul. Did you know that the force of light is seen best when enveloped by the darkness.
